IT Senior Systems Administrator

To ensure that the business IT systems are running efficiently and securely, to be pro-active in error detection to prevent downtime to essential business services.

Provide escalated support to users across all levels of the business

You will be required to work as part of the IT Team aiming to exceed departmental and individuals’ expectations and KPIs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Domain \ Systems Administration in a MS Windows Environment


* Active Directory Users & Groups Configuration – Ensuring all users and groups are maintain to Principle of Least Privilege

* DNS\DHCP\IIS Configuration – Ensure efficient running of network services

* Group Policy management – Utilise GPO to automate IT tasks where possible

Virtual Environment Administration in a VMware ESXi environment

Data Backup \ Replication Administration

Collaboration systems administration Inc. MS SharePoint, SfB, Teams and Telephony

Administration of physical network infrastructure and devices Inc. Virtual hosts, SAN and switches.


* Provide ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization.

Assist with repair and recovery from hardware or software failures, including communication with impacted parties and additional support resources.

Perform periodic performance reporting, showing departmental performance against KPI’s

Contribution to team deliverables in line with IT strategy


* Produce recommendations to improve IT Security

* Review and recommend product and process improvements within the IT infrastructure including new technology opportunities

* Participate in IT Projects

* Contribute to the delivery of IT targets

* Creation and maintenance of IT Documentation


* System Documentation

* User Guides

* Training Guides and delivery

* Dashboard creation and maintenance for technical reporting

Skills & Requirements

Knowledge of Windows operating systems for Workstations & Servers

Clear understanding of and experience of working in, virtual environments

Demonstrable expertise in


* MS Server Management

* VMware Administration

* SharePoint Administration

Experience of working within an ITIL framework

Microsoft Office applications knowledge in a support environment

Clear understanding of networking and security technologies

Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Problem solving and analytical skills

* Generating new ideas and driving their implementation

* Supportive of others – team, peers, customers and senior management

* To be pro-active and show autonomy
