Job Description


The Sales Engineer will form part of the Channel Sales Engineer Team covering the UK & Ireland market. This will be a customer-facing role and the Sales Engineer must feel comfortable presenting and educating all levels customers’ contacts.

The Sales Engineer will own the most demanding accounts, in terms of product knowledge and technical sales support, and will be accountable for the revenue of the listed accounts.

They will provide both remote and onsite professional services, becoming the escalation point for Support Services if onsite visits are required.

They must be able to manage their time and be comfortable working alone and within the wider EMEA team. They must have ambition to drive themselves and the company forward and will have strong problem solving ability and a flexible “can do” attitude.

Key responsibilities:
The responsibilities of Sales Engineer includes but not limited to:
Technical Sales Support
Provide support to the Channel sales team in the form of pre-sales, and attend customer sites as appropriate. This will include but not limited to
Providing presentations
Specifying solutions
Working on tenders
Site visits (may require overnight stay)
Building and demonstrating solutions
Be the technical contact for the larger / important nominated partners
Manage and be accountable for the revenue from the allocated accounts provided by Sales Manager to drive growth.
Maintain a high degree of customer service for all customer queries.
Take ownership of user problems that have been escalated and be pro-active when dealing with user issues.
Help in the creation and updating of documentation for each product.
Escalate problems to management, Support Services and HQ when necessary.
Be the point of technical escalation for team members and technical queries.
Escalate issues to the Head of Support Services if a solution cannot been found in an acceptable timeframe.

Training and Education
Develop and deliver technical training to customers, partners and other members of the team
Arrange and deliver special customer trainings when required
Continuous development of technical knowledge by way of training camps, in house training and on the job learning to improve knowledge on product and technical with the target is to keep the technical knowledge always ahead of the upcoming new technologies before they are delivered to the market or need to be trained.
Product Testing and Evaluation of new products, firmware and software.
Test new codes and features on both existing and new hardware.
Other ad hoc duties as required.

Candidate Experience:
To work in a fast moving environment where key objectives need to be met in pre-agreed timescales .Demonstrable experience within a similar role within the IT Channel and dealing with B2B customers.
Excellent working networking TCP/IP knowledge, including practical experience with wireless, ADSL, LAN and WAN products
Excellent knowledge of Switching (VLAN, 802.1p, 802.1q, 802.1w, QoS)
Excellent Knowledge of Security (Firewalls, VPN)
Excellent understanding of multiple desktop operation systems including window's, Mac, Linux
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Fluent in English, any other languages would be beneficial
Must be an enthusiastic team player with an innovative approach.
Strong presentation skill
Effective sales and negotiation skills and good interpersonal skills
A problem solver with a desire to see through to resolution
Full UK driving license
Results orientated, motivated by success, and achievement and be able to execute on multiple projects simultaneously.
Able to work under pressure and be prepared

This opportunity brings with it a guaranteed basic salary between £40,000-£50,000 per year, car allowance or £6,000 per year, Internet allowance of £500 per year, eligible for additional performance related bonus and standard company benefits
