Consultancy | Hybrid (Up to 2 days onsite) | London Unfortunately, my client is not able to sponsor, so candidates must have the right to work in the UK. I'm seeking a Principal Data Engineer to join a public and Private sector-focused consultancy. A Principal Data Engineer to spearhead our collaborative efforts. As a Principal Data Engineer, you'll be instrumental in crafting and maintaining cutting-edge digital solutions that resonate with users and deliver tangible value. In this role, you'll serve as a technical authority within the engineering community, ensuring that software aligns with business objectives and adheres to industry best practices. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues to devise and implement bespoke solutions for clients, fostering strong relationships and troubleshooting any issues that arise along the way. Your responsibilities will include overseeing software development and deployment pipelines, and proactively identifying and resolving potential bottlenecks. With a keen eye for detail and strategic mindset, you'll continuously assess and prioritise the team's workload to ensure optimal performance in dynamic environments. Communication will be key, as you'll be presenting prototypes, solutions, and progress updates to both internal and external stakeholders. By nurturing relationships with your team and stakeholders, you'll foster a supportive environment where challenges are tackled head-on and successes are celebrated. As a data and engineering community champion, you'll help shape the strategic direction and seize new business opportunities through technical bids and proposals. To thrive in this role, you'll need: Proficiency in Python and at least one other core programming language Strong familiarity with SQL and relational databases, with exposure to NoSQL databases considered a plus Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP A solid grasp of various data formats, including CSV, JSON, and XML Expertise in building reliable data pipelines Broad knowledge of IT, including security and networking principles Experience in Agile environments, with a focus on Test-Driven Development and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Demonstrated leadership experience on complex projects, with a knack for managing stakeholder expectations and influencing decisions A passion for coaching and mentoring others to achieve optimal solutions Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences At Digital Innovators, we offer more than just a competitive salary.
